Sager One-Year Limited Parts And Labor Warranty Policy

1. Definition of Terms

As used in this warranty policy, "Product" means any hardware manufactured for or by Sager bearing the "Sager" trademark, trade name, or logo that is purchased directly from Sager or a Sager Authorized Reseller.

An "Original Purchaser" is any consumer that purchases and has possession of a Product directly from Sager or from a Sager Authorized Reseller.

An "Authorized Reseller" is any retail store that has an agreement to purchase Products direct from Sager on an ongoing basis for resale.

An "End User" is the ultimate consumer of the Product and constitutes anyone who owns and uses a Sager Product.

"Date of Original Retail Purchase" is the date the Original Purchaser bought the Product from Sager or a Sager Authorized Reseller.

2. Scope of Warranty

SAGER WARRANTS this Sager hardware Product against defects in merchandise and workmanship for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the Date of Original Retail Purchase.

a. Products Covered
This warranty applies only to hardware Products manufactured by or for Sager that can be identified by the "Sager" trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them. Sager provides no warranty whatsoever for any software provided with its Products; such software is warranted separately by their manufacturers. Sager does not warrant any products that are not Sager Products. This warranty does not apply if: (1) the Product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication; (2) the Product has been modified without the written permission of Sager; or (3) if any Sager serial number has been removed or defaced.

b. Service Procedures
If you discover a defect, Sager will, at its option and to the extent permitted by law: (1) repair the Product (using new or refurbished replacement parts); (2) replace the Product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product; or (3) refund the purchase price of this Product at no charge to you—provided you return it during the limited warranty period, with freight charges prepaid to the appropriate Sager repair department, and provided you obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number prior to shipping your defective Product. The RMA number must appear plainly on the outside of the shipping packaging. RMA numbers can be obtained by calling or writing Sager at the address and phone numbers printed on this certificate. For each Product returned for warranty service, please attach your name, address, telephone number, RMA number, and a copy of your bill of sale bearing the appropriate Sager serial numbers as proof of Date of Original Retail Purchase.

It is your responsibility to complete a backup of all existing data and programs on Sager Products prior to returning the Product to Sager for repair under this warranty. SAGER WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR RECOVERY OF DATA OR PROGRAMS.

Sager will pay for UPS three-day shipping (or ground shipping for addresses near Los Angeles, California) both ways for returned products. THIS APPLIES TO END USERS IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ONLY (EXCLUDING PUERTO RICO, ALASKA, HAWAII, AND U.S. POSSESSIONS AND TERRITORIES). OTHERWISE, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING THE PRODUCT TO OUR REPAIR FACILITY AND WE WILL SHIP THE PRODUCT BACK TO YOU FREIGHT COLLECT. SAGER IS ONLY ABLE TO PROVIDE RETURN SHIPPING TO THE END USER FOR THOSE END USERS WITH AN FPO/APO ADDRESS.

SAGER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE REIMBURSEMENT FOR SHIPPING COSTS IF IT IS APPARENT THE PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY.

c. Lifetime Free Technical Support

SAGER WILL PROVIDE telephone or email technical assistance to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER of a Sager Product for as long as the Original Purchaser continues to possess the Product. All "Third-Party" software and peripherals are not covered by this Lifetime Free Technical Support. They are supported by their original manufacturers.

3. Sager's Limited Warranty Obligations are Limited to the Terms Set Forth Below:

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WARRANTY AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, STUATUTORY, EXPRESS, OR IMPLIED. AS PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SAGER SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. IF SAGER CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THEN TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY AND TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SERVICE AS DETERMINED BY SAGER IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION.
No Sager dealer, agent or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension or addition to this warranty. If any term is held to be illegal or unenforceable, the legality or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected or impaired.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THIS WARRANTY AND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAGER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY, OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF USE; LOSS OF REVENUE; LOSS OF ACTUAL OR ANTICIPATED PROFITS (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS ON CONTRACTS); LOSS OF ACTUAL MONEY; LOSS OF ANTICIPATED SAVINGS; LOSS OF BUSINESS; LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY; LOSS OF GOODWILL; LOSS OF REPUTATION; LOSS OF, DAMAGE TO OR CORRUPTION OF DATA; DOWNTIME; OR ANY INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE HOWSOEVER CAUSED INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY, ANY COSTS OF RECOVERING, REPROGRAMMING, OR REPRODUCING ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH SAGER PRODUCTS, AND ANY FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA STORED ON SAGER PRODUCTS.

SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSIONS OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

4. Governing Law

This limited warranty policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any litigation under this agreement shall be resolved in the trial courts of Los Angeles County, State of California, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction on this matter.

Barebone purchases come standard with a 1 Year Limited Warranty and no shipping coverage for mail in repair. Any barebones system that are sent in for repairs, that are the result of faulty hardware added by anyone other then Alim Computer, will not be covered under the Warranty and will be charged a $89 diagnostic fee for testing & diagnostics. Physical damage (liquid damage, physical abuse, over heating etc.) will void All warranties. Barebone batteries and power adapters are warranted through the manufacturer. Any reports of missing/damaged items need to be reported within 2 weeks of delivery. Purchasing our extended warranties extend the internal hardware or provide LCD ADP Protection. Custom exterior modifications made to the system by Alim Computer are not extended (i.e Paint Jobs, Skinning). When returns are set up for External Accessories purchased, they must be returned unopened in their original retail package to be eligible for refund.

From time to time promotional items are offered for Free during promotional periods. The price of these items is taken out of the price of the laptop and provided as a Promotional Item. In the event of a return for refund the price of the item will be deducted from the refund if the Laptop/PC is returned. Additionally sometimes promotions or discounts are offered on Sager Laptops which requires shipment to Alim Computers. In the event a order is cancelled after departure from Sager shipping Fee's back to Sager will be taken out of the refund.

 

Procedures for Obtaining Warranty Service

RMA (Returning Merchandise Authorization) Policy:

If repairs are required, the customer must obtain a RMA number and provide proof of purchase. RMA and services are rendered by Alim Computer or Authorized Service Centers only. Any shipping costs after 30 days (starting from the original date of purchase) on any item returned for repair are the customers’ responsibility. All returned parts must have a RMA number written clearly on the outside of the package along with a letter detailing the problems and a copy of the original proof of purchase. No COD packages will be accepted. No package will be accepted without a RMA number written on the outside of the package. RMA numbers are only valid for 30 days from the date of issue. International customers must pay shipping both ways for any repairs, including warranty repairs. Please refer to our Contact Us page to for setting up any RMA.

After One-Year Warranty – Post Warranty Repair

For post warranty repair, the procedure is the same however; you are responsible for shipping charges both way, current labor (rate per hour; waived for 2nd and 3rd year), and the current price of part(s) used in repair.

Governing Law

This warranty policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Any litigation under this agreement shall be resolved in the trial courts of Hillsborough County, State of Florida, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction on this matter.

Shipping Instructions

Alim Computer advises shipping the computer in the original box and packing materials. If the original box and materials are no longer available, please call your shipper to receive specifications for shipping a package through them. Please do not attempt to ship via U.S. Mail. The U.S. Mail has no way of tracking the package in the event the package never arrives at Alim Computer. We recommend UPS, FedEx or any other shipping company that uses tracking technology.

YOUR RMA NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX OR PACKAGE. TAPE A NOTE TO THE SIDE OF YOUR COMPUTER, INSIDE THE BOX OR PACKAGE. THIS NOTE SHOULD INCLUDED:

YOUR FULL NAME, ADDRESS, RMA NUMBER, DAYTIME PHONE NUMBER AND PROBLEM(S) DESCRIPTION.

Full System:

· The box should able to handle a weight of 40~50 lbs.

· There should be a minimum of 3” of space on all six sides of the computer.

· The 3” space shall be fitted with BLOCK FOAM material. Make sure the material will absorb an impact if dropped.

· Use heavy-duty 3” packing tape rated at 60 lbs. To seal the package. Do not use masking tape - the driver will not accept the package.

· When you ship your Alim Computer product in for repair or credit, Alim Computer is not liable or responsible for freight damage. It is recommended that you insure the package in the event that your Alim Computer product is received freight damaged, you may be able to file a claim with your shipper.

· If your computer is damaged due to improper shipping, you must instruct Alim Computer to repair or return your computer within 30 days. Computer left beyond 30 days will be subject to a storage fee of $15 per day. However, in no event will storage of your computer exceed one year. Any item left beyond one year shall be discarded at Alim Computer’s sole discretion.

ALL DAMAGE WILL DELAY THE RETURN OF YOUR COMPUTER

 

Individual parts must be handled in a similar manner:

· The parts must have sufficient protection to prevent damage, use anti-static bag for memory and peripherals.

· Hard drives, Floppy drives, CD-ROMS and peripherals must be boxed. Never use an envelope. These parts are sensitive to being dropped or crushed.

· Any package received damaged will be kept in the receiving department and the Technical Support and Customer Service Supervisors will be contacted in order to contact you regarding the damage. You will then be advised to file a claim with the shipping company.

Should any debt become outstanding, all Attorney Fee's and Collection Agency Fees will be charged to the outstanding debt.

  USA Warranty Coverage - MSI Barebone Notebook PC's Only 
All MSI barebone notebook PCs are covered under MSI's 1 year standard limited warranty, including both parts and labor. 

 1 Year Standard Limited Warranty Hardware Coverage 
The following items are covered under this warranty:

MOTHERBOARD, KEYBOARD, TOUCHPAD, POINTING DEVICES, AUDIO DEVICES, OPTICAL DRIVES (DVD/CD-RW Combo, DVD Dual Layer Burner), AC/DC POWER CORD 
Note: Hard drives, processors, and memory are supplied by your dealer and are not covered under this warranty. Primary battery is covered for 1 year.

  LCD Screen Pixel Policy:

 
All notebook displays use TFT technology, manufactured according to high industry standards, to guarantee trouble-free personal computing. Nevertheless, your display may have cosmetic imperfection that appear as small bright or dark spots. This is common to all LCD displays and cannot be avoided by any of our models. These imperfections are caused by one or more defective pixels or sub-pixels. MSI follows the common bad pixel policy from the industry 

Following the industry standard, MSI warrants a defective LCD display as having 5 or more bad pixels* and will accept delivery of such a system within 30 days from the invoice date of <Distributor> for a replacement. 

* 5 abnormal pixels for 14" or smaller LCD display and 7 abnormal pixels for 15" or larger LCD display.

  Extended Warranty Coverage:

 
The following items are covered under the extended warranty: 
MOTHERBOARD, KEYBOARD, TOUCHPAD, POINTING DEVICES, AUDIO DEVICES, OPTICAL DRIVES (DVD/CD-RW, DVD Dual). 
Primary battery and AC/DC POWER CORD/Adapter are NOT covered.

 Non-Warranty Coverage:


The MSI standard limited warranty covers all MSI notebook PCs under normal usage conditions and does not cover any damages as a direct result of users misuse or negligence.
The MSI standard limited warranty is void upon any unauthorized servicing, disassembly or modifications. All authorizations must be expressed and in writing by MSI. 


  Protection / Back Up Of Stored Data:


With respect to all service provided, it is Customer's responsibility to backup the contents of your hard drive, including any data you have stored or software you have installed on the hard drive. It is likely that the contents of your hard drive will be lost or reformatted in the course of service and MSI will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data or other information stored on any media or any part of any Product serviced. IF DURING THE REPAIR OF THE PRODUCT THE CONTENTS OF THE HARD DRIVE ARE ALTERED, DELETED, OR IN ANYWAY MODIFIED, MSI IS NOT RESPONSIBLE WHATSOEVER. CUSTOMER'S PRODUCT WILL BE RETURNED AS ORIGINALLY CONFIGURED BY MSI.
